Huntsville Madison Photographer -- Romancing in the Park

Aren't these two the cutest??? And gorgeous!  My heavens.  This is the second time I've had the pleasure of photographing these two -- and now they're married!  We met in the wee hours of the morning, while the moon was still high, and enjoyed a lovely Madison sunrise amid drifting fog and lush wildflowers.  And we had such fun!  I asked my awkward, silly questions while this duo just enjoyed each other's company.  Ah..... so happy for them!

Huntsville Lifestyle Family Photographer - Campbell Family

I've said it before, and I'll say again:  I have the best clients (my "people", as I prefer to call them because they're really like family).  When someone gives the Lauren Bee website a good looking over, and then contacts me for a family portrait session, we get to know each other really well, fairly quickly -- and sometimes (okay, I admit almost every single time) within just a few sentences or e-mails bounced back and forth, we're laughing and making jokes and being generally hilarious together (because my people are just that awesome, I'm telling you).

Janet is totally one of those clients.  She's my people.  She's quirky and funny and smart -- and upon meeting her for the first time, I realized, also beautiful.  Know what else she is?  An amazing mom.  I'm a big "heart on sleeve" kind of gal, so I won't beat around the bush:  watching Janet with her boys deeply touched me;  we're talking right to the heart and turning on the waterworks just a smidge.  Her sons adore her!  And it's no surprise why.  She's so laid back and so .... cool.

("Cool" is still a hip word, right?  Right?)

Basically, Janet is the mom every kid wants.  I am not even kidding.

Our lifestyle photography session started out at the most perfect "golden hour" time, where the summer trees were all lit up with dappled fire.  I snapped a few shots of Janet, one or two with her boys, a few of her boys being silly together .... but dang it gets hot in July in Alabama.  So we headed on over to Plamore Lanes in Huntsville -- where I was afforded a rare glimpse of a family done right, a la bowling balls and ketchup-drenched fries that are, apparently, the best fries in the world

I couldn't be more thrilled to now count Janet and her fellas as some of Lauren Bee's own.  Welcome to the family, y'all!

Destination Photographer - The 2017 World in Bloom

Traveling,  Seeing the world.  Sucking the very marrow out of life.

Do you feel it too, The Wanderlust?

It's everything to me.  Traveling is a close second to God + family;  the desire -- the all-encompassing, gut-wrenching urge to wander! -- has been a driving force behind everything I do in life.

Yes, everything.

The dream?  To travel and take photographs, of course!  It's been a dream of mine ever since venturing out with a camera in-hand.  And until recently that's all it was: a dream.

But not anymore.  As the late, great Whitney Houston said all those years ago (with nary a hint of cheesy irony):

"I decided long ago, never to walk in anyone's shadows.  If I fail, if I succeed, at least I'll live as I believe."

And this is what I believe:  my gypsy heart was meant to roam our world, tasting and savoring new flavors, meeting and laughing with new friends, experiencing and witnessing new sights.  So that is exactly what Lauren Bee will be doing in 2017!

I am ridiculously excited to announce next year's World In Bloom destination fine art photography locations!

  • April 2017: Orlando, FL
  • June/July 2017: Outer Banks, NC
  • September 2017: Dublin, Ireland
  • May & November 2017:  Nashville, TN

If you're in (or plan to be in) any of my hot spots, I would love nothing more than to meet you and photograph your own exotic brand of beauty!  How exciting would it be to work together, you and me, creating amazing art together?  Very exciting indeed!

But session bookings are limited, so do make plans to join me on the 2017 World in Bloom tour by contacting me below -- and tell me what, more than anything, you'd love to capture on our adventure together.   I can't wait to hear from you!

Huntsville Alabama Wedding Photographer - Adam's and Sarah's Wedding Day

I'm going to go ahead right now and confess my absolute adoration for this couple.  I'm not ashamed to admit how I swoon on the inside (and gush a bit on the outside, I can't help myself!) whenever I'm around them.  The way Adam looks at his bride is the stuff of dreams.  And Sarah, this amazing and beautiful and strong woman, is so deeply in love with her guy that I almost wanna cry.  Yes, they're that amazing.  A truly and deeply committed couple.  I'm in love with them, y'all.  Seriously.

It was no surprise that Adam's and Sarah's gorgeous Southern wedding was absolute perfection.  The couple said their "I dos" at Huntsville's Annabella at Cedar Glen , and from the romantic (and gorgeously fragrant!) flowers by 333 Design to the his-and-her cakes by Veneranda Cake Art and delicious food catered by Main Even Catering, it was a wedding day to remember.  I feel so honored to have photographed this beautiful union, joining forces with Jenni M. Photography to capture wedding memories I'm sure the bride and groom will treasure always.

Congrats, Adam and Sarah!  I'm wishing you years and years of wedded bliss.  I'm so happy for you both.

Huntsville Alabama Portrait Photographer - Sandy's Sunshine Session

I love Sandy.  She's a true old soul, nurturing and giving, with an aura of golden beauty that follows her wherever she goes.  But she's also a touch sassy;  clever and strong, with a penchant for Fireball whisky.

When Sandy approached me to do a HERstory fine art portrait session for her, I positively leaped with joy.  And when she told me during her session -- located in a gorgeous, sun-saturated Madison county field, replete with cool pond and tall, mature trees -- that she envisioned herself as a bit of a dragon, but "didn't think anyone could pull that off," I thought to myself --

Challenge accepted!

I thoroughly enjoyed photographing Sandy in her natural habitat:  all golden sunshine with deep, mysterious shadows.  She's a remarkably beautiful woman, and I am blessed to know her.
