Nathanson Family in Magic Kingdom
I’ve said it a million times, and I’ll say it again: any day spent in the Magic Kingdom is better than any day spent not in the Magic Kingdom. Rain or shine, it truly is the happiest place on earth, and it makes my heart so happy — especially when I get to spend a day with a family whose hearts are as invested as mine is.
Joy, Craig, and their adorable daughter Aviva are just such a family — and I felt so blessed to be invited to enjoy time with them at Disney World. Such genuinely kind people, visiting the warmth of sunny Florida, all the way from Canada. Except —
It happened to be a rather rainy day! Haha! Not much sunshine in sight. Still, overcast skies (and rain puddles, as you shall see!) made for a wonderful day in the world of magic, fantasy, and laughter.
After a ride on the Monorail from Disney’s Grand Floridian, we headed to the Magic Kingdom, which is the next stop over. The light was so gorgeous coming in from rain-spattered windows, and Aviva was so enamored of the scenery — as any child (or child-at-heart) invariably is.
Next Stop: Main Street U.S.A.! Balloons and a little window shopping are always a grand idea!
And no day in the Magic Kingdom would be complete without a visit to Cinderella Castle.
Fun Fact: Did you know the name of the castle in Magic Kingdom is, in fact, Cinderella Castle, not “Cinderella’s Castle”? It’s actually the prince’s castle — and he named it after his beloved princess-wife..
(I’m chock full of Disney Fun Facts — just ask Joy and Craig; they couldn’t get me to shut up! Haha!)
Then onward! So much of Fantasyland to explore, so many rides to ride, princesses to meet, smiles to share!
While the sky was overcast most of the day, the rain held off long enough for us to dart undercover for a bite of lunch. Afterward, the rain puddles were just too magical to resist.
After a meeting with the Mouse himself, the remaining light was waning, and it was time to call it a day — and oh what a truly magical day it was.
Thank you Craig and Joy and Aviva for sharing your day with me. It was a gift!
